Last night i re-installed my whole system and once that was done i played som Day Of Defeat Source, but i forgot to turn my ATI Tool settings to PRO specifications instead of XT PE. I have a X800 PRO overclocked to XT PE but i cant run it on XT since it gets overheated etc. So now i can see some green spots everywhere in DOD with max details and when im scanning for artifacts in ATI Tool they come up all the time, small yellow spots even if i run at PRO.

What can i do ?

The cooling isnt any prob at all its 30 - 70 celcius not more.

Ive seen this problem, and i agree that it may not be heat related at all. It may just be a result of the overclock gone bad. In the one i saw it only occured in Battlefield Vietnam, and no other games, but the owner had to flash his BIOS back to pro to even get it to work.

I cant run it on XT PE since then it gets overheated and everything crasches, but on PRO it doesnt but still tons of artifacts in DoD Source and Quake 4. Ive flashed back to the original bios but no changes.

If you get artifacts no matter what, ITS OVER HEATING.

its been 70 in games ever since i bought it, and the new cooler didnt help

Graphics cards can take the higher temps.
I wouldnt say 70degrees is overheating.
Maybe the memory is damaged? I dunno.

hmm... my non-overclocked X800 XT PE rarely goes above 55C.

EDIT: oh, I misread. it's a pro overclocked TO XT. riiight.

Yeah, my X850 XT PE never went above 55 either. Just the fan died on both of them :(

i only get artifacts in DOD Source when running with HDR settings and in Quake 4, in the Sky. CSS works fine on max etc. Would you dare to sell it in this condition ?

Not really fair to sell faulty products... You could sell it, but i'd state that it does get artifacts when HDR is turned on... :/

Do you still get artifacts in game when HDR is turned off?

no i dont, what could have caused this, any why, can it be fixed ?
