I just saw this on newegg..and for $200...that doesn't seem like too bad of a hit. Although I tried searching around the net for benchmarks/tales from people complaining/praising, etc. Didn't find much of anything. So just curious of people who have actually bought one and recomend it. I can afford that or an XL for $280..but I just want to know if the $80 is worth the performance...

My current system = P4 2.8 ghz 1024 megabytes DDR400 9600XT*:(* So I'm sure it will be a large boost in performance from the start anyway :p Just looking for opinions.

I think (Not totally sure though) that this card is slightly better than a 6600GT. Will try and find some benchmarks though

For $200 you can find plenty of X800XLs on Ebay, and even some X850 XT PE's for down near $225. I keep track almost every day, looking for deals... I'd go for one of those.. X800 GTO isn't that great, kinda slow actually. I think it's actually funny because GTO sounds fast because we're all used to hearing 'GTO' when speaking about fast race cars. However, this card isn't all that fast.

I refuse to buy a used video card. Just my style. I bought the GTO for under $200. I think it will be a nice addition. Gotta find someone to give my 9600XT to now \=

I could use a "new" vid card.

If i recall correctly, the GTO only has 8 pipelines vs the 12 or 16 that most of its bretheren have. Honestly, the GTO looks like the equivilent of an overclocked 9800.

I would definately check this out as it will give you the best performance for that price.

Nope, 16 with a bios flash. Get it.... I'm regretting my powercolor board already :(

Er...... i like the way this thread has continued the discussion of a graphics card that he cannot even use in his system...

You have a 9600XT right ? Which is agp, and i am fairly sure the X800GTO is a PCI-E only card, i may be wrong, but i can't seem to find an agp version. Correct me if i'm wrong (maybe they have an agp version in america ?)

In which case you are looking at a X800XL, which does come in an agp version, which is a very good card.

And to clear it up, the X800GTO is a 12 pipeline card as standard, with very similiar clock speeds to the X800Xl (if not identical), so i would imagine a very competent performer. The X800GT was found to be a little faster than the 6600GT, but this is the GTo, a different card, and a decent performance hike over the GT i would imagine.

well its too late really, because newegg boosted the price of the gto2 to like $300, making it pretty much pointless to buy

Not completely sure about that. There are two listings... one is a model number 100130, which is an OEM model, but out of stock, and the other (more expensive, but in stock) is a 100130L retail model. Not sure what the difference between oem and retail is here, unless its just the box because it appears they both come with the same cables, etc.

Are there any other online retailers that are selling these? I couldn't find them on ZipZoomFly or TigerDirect
