In what way do the current gen of cards suck? The X800XT gets over double the performance of an 9800XT. We haven't seen a big a jump as that for years, well not since the 9700pro was introduced anyway. If anything last gen cards sucked. I mean the 9800XT was a joke an extra 200 australian, and for what? 8 fps better performance?

It says "up to 16 pipelines". UP to, not exactly because there is a way to unlock the 4 extra pipelines, look around for it.
