What kind of TV are you going to use with the xbox 360?
Regular NTSC/PAL TV, widescreen or not? Or are you thinking about buying a HDTV? If so, which one and what price are you willing to spend?

I'm thinking of buying a 26" Samsung LCD TV, but the price is still pretty high.

Thoughts, advice, anyone?

I'm going to buy a Sharp 32" HD-Ready TV for the 360.

I recommend getting it on credit if your going to buy a new television, because these TV's cost £600 minimum.

This site seems to be the balls for deals and prices. :)

I'm buying a LE-32R51B HD-Ready TV from Samsung, I would have prefered their LE-32M61B but that's like 700 USD more expensive.
The one I'm buying is going for aprox. 1500 dollars.

wow. that's some serious money thrown into hdtv. Is it really that much difference with a normal tv?

has anyone seen the difference?
How about just using a tft screen with the xbox 360? Will the quality be any good using the vga cable?

Im getting something like a 41-63 inch widescreen HDTV and I'll never buy another t.v. I don't even have a T.V., I have my DirectTV satelite box hooked up to a computer monitor with a S-Video to VGA converter box. Looks great, looks better than HDtv perhaps, but its only 17"

and i think that Europeans have always had better quality t.v. broadcasting don't they? or was that like long ago? i heard this like 10 years ago. Anyway with digital broadcasting in HD i guess thats a bigger jump in quallity for americans than it will be for them perhaps?

VirusType, not to mention HDTVs are alot cheaper in America, because they've been there since the late 90:s, here the first HD-networks went online just this year.
Also, I'm not sure but a does a standard PC monitor support Progressive Scan?
If not it's not better in technical terms, aside from the res.

I'd really like to get a 1080i/p HDTV but those cost a whole lot more than the 720p ones.

Also guys, good read if you wanna know more about HDTV.

Take care.:p

I've seen the TV's in the electrical stores rigged with HD. And the difference is impressive. Of course, here in the good ol' U of emmmm K the sets are only available HD Ready, I don't think it comes into play until sometime next year.

But high definition looks much better on a bigger screen. :)

Sanyo PLV-Z2 video projector (can do 720p and 1080i) and a 92" screen. And getting my new speakers (5*Quad 12L Pro) this week so I'll have a 5.1 surround system ready.

Can't afford an HDTV..just using regular TV..with component cables though...brings out more sharpness and colour.

I have a 62in Sony HDTV, I payed $2000. The HD looks and sounds terrific.

I myself really have no use for a 62" one, I usually only sit about 1.5/2 meters away from my TV.

The max size for me is probably around 42", because the further a persons eyes have to scan the more stress it causes to the eyes.:)

I hate you people living in America tho, HDTVs are alot cheaper over there than here.:(

I'll be using my xbox tv for my pc as well. So 23" or 26" is probably big enough, samsung has some pretty good tvs that offer HDTV ready (720P) and hdmi for around € 1000,-

Aye, my mate got himself a Samsung 26" HD-ready for about £650. They seem to be the most popular choice at the moment.

Yea i have been thinking about getting a projector. i have this huge wall I could clear everything from. i could put rows of sofas like a movie theater. i just worry about the sharpness and how well it will show up though. how much was that Sanyo?

When I bought it I paid like 1200€. You can get it about 700€-1000€ now. And I would recommend getting Sanyo PLV-Z4 (came this year) costs about +1700€.

HDTVs are nice with a digital signal. Much better than DVD if you have a 720p signal. Xbox games will be slick with an HDTV. Are they supporting widescreen?

Only thing they do suck when it comes to regular analog signals. All blocky and noisy...like it would be on your PC monitor. :)

XB360 games comes with a MINIMUM requirement of running at 16:9 at 720p, so yes, they support widescreen.:p

They suck with analog signals tho?
Are those that they use on standard TVs?
So if I run my PS2 on a HDTV it'll look like shiet?O.o
