So I'm going to get a Xbox 360 and hook it up to my monitor by buying the VGA cable provided by Microsoft. The only problem I can foresee is setting up the audio.

The VGA cable comes with 2 outputs; Left Stereo and Right Stereo. I want to connect my headsets minijack to these somehow, so I'm guessing that I'm going to need some sort of adapter.

What adapter do I need?

Just some 3.5mm and RCA audio cable adapter(s).
Most are male to male but you actually need female to female ends.

Maybe get a 3.5mm female adapter along with 2 female couplers.
Xbox audio cord (2 plugs)->couplers->rca to female 3.5mm adapter->headphones
Although I'm not sure how the volume will be since you are not going through another device (e.g. a receiver).

Or find 1 adapter that has both ends correct for your use. Not a popular combination though.

Okay. I've changed my mind.

I have a set of 2.1 speakers that are connected to my PC. I would like to be able to switch the speakers audio between the 360 and the PC easily without having to manually keep swapping the cables around. I could just use the headphone input on the speaker's volume controller to use my headset. :D

PC:

Soundcard > Line Out > "Magical Device" > Speakers

360:

RCA L and R > 2 Phono to 3.5mm > "Magical Device" > Speakers

"Magical Device"

Must accept two 3.5mm inputs and a single 3.5mm output allowing me to switch easily between the two audio sources.

Hope that makes sense. :p

Cool but it looks like that huge white lead will inevitably lead to an American plug. :(

Would it be possible to hook up the 2 outputs into 1 output and just run that through the speaker? I wouldn't use the PC and 360 at the same time anyway.

You could probably use that switch the reverse of how it was ment to be used BUT the ends won't fit then...you would need more (male/female) adapters...
And the cord in the picture is actually just a 3.5mm audio cord. No power cords.
