Xbox Controller USB mod

I tried this and it does quite well, only some games do not recognize the controller and the rumble only works in a few games.
The only thing I did different is I just stripped the xbox controller cable and the usb cable and soldered the same colored wires together.
Has anyone else tried this? Is there a better driver than the one this tutorial links to?

dont have a link to it anymore, but i just bought a playstation 2 usb converter. its a little box ( bout 3x3x1) that you just plug the ps2 controller into, and the other end into the computers usb port. Its then recognized by windows xp as a generic usb controller. they probably have the same for xbox

You don't have to do it yourself anymore, some sites on the web stock pre-made cables that you just connect using the standard controller connectors
