xbox disc tray woes

i was trying to play my old xbox today but the disc tray just wont close unless i tilt the xbox at a 90 degree angle.
and when it is at this angle and i insert a disc the tray wont read it?
anyone know whre i can get a solution for this problem I've tried google and no luck

Why don't you just call tech support? It might be the simplest answer.

I looked on Microsoft's site and they can clear up how to get it to open, but not how to get it to close...weird.
