It's pretty damned good, but unless you upgrade your weapons you ain't going to get nowhere. The M4 with a scope, be it ACOG or red dot, is so unfairly powerful, you've got to upgrade just to fight against it.

Sounds like he glitched his way into beta.

I've been playing it on a mate's 360 for the past week or so as I was given a beta token yet I don't own a 360. It's pretty fun, the perk system is definitely a nice change to things and the graphics are very plush. I just wish IW would lower the jumping frequency and height.

Oh yeah, it's certainly a glitch, but from my experience so far it's been exploited to the max. Been loads of Brits playing. Not saying thats a reason to do it, but it's not my call so heh.

Yup, I know exactly of the glitch he used It's what some people used to get into Halo3 Epislon (about 100 people or so, which probably all were banned because of it).

Yeah theres 24 hour bans being handed out for this one, too. Hopefully I got into the UK beta so I can finally play some myself.

Tell you what, though - the Skorpion SMG, aka the Klobb from Goldeneye (that AWFUL weapon) is crazy good in this, esp. with a red dot sight.

I'm enjoying it much more now I can play as much as I want without having to go to my friends, but christ on a bike, tone the M4's down! Or just bin 'em, or make them accesable at a much more higher level. An M4 with ACOG/red dot has barely ANY recoil, which isn't a surprise seeing that a grip bar is built in to the model as standard, which is a great help for support guns alone. I don't like using the M4 because it's way too dominating and I HATE not giving people a chance. RPK with red dot sight for the win.

I'm not a fan of search and destroy when you're the last man standing and everyone is spectating you. I had some obnoxious Americans making fun of me as the only survivor, calling me a dumbass everytime I died or that I was shit. That's funny, bellend, considering I took out half their team every match on my own whilst they were the first to die. I threw a flashbang into a room and got a slight bit of the effect and that was all the fuel they needed to go all out shithead on me.

Not sure, don't think so anyway. To be honest, couldn't care about the single player as it looks nothing apart from the other COD games, I'm just interested in the MP.

Obviously I'll play the SP, and I'll enjoy it nonetheless, but still, nothing too hype worthy.

Played it last night.

First impressions are kindof mixed, it's as fun as COD for starters, and it retains the feel which is great, the grass and the animations strike me the most in visual improvement.

The awards system is bizarre and kindof cool at the same time. You get experiance for kills etc and you use it to obtain new equipment, nothing new there but you get tricks aswell as you rank up. Like the ability to shoot your pistol while lying on the floor for instance, if someone doesn't cap you off properly.

And this is kindof the oddest bit in terms of fairness and balance between more skilled and less skilled players, you get to call airstrikes for 5 kills in a row, and you get a freaking helicopter for 9 kills which can rape people inside buildings as bullets go through walls.

So the better player you are the more your given the ability to rape everyone else, it's like a backwards handicap system. It's hilarious to be honest, more enjoyable for a hardcore player no doubt.

Got my beta key (finnish players, peliplaneetta has 2k keys). I played straight to lvl 11. The game is more like CoD1 than CoD2 IMO. The shotgun isn't so gay anymore. Definately going to buy this for PC... Haven't been this exited about an fps for a long time!

Then to the rank system. Yeah it's nice that we have to do something to earn weapons etc. But the downside is that the starting weapons suck big time, but luckily you get the better weapons in like an hour or so.

The special abilities. You get these from killing many enemies in a row. IMO the radar ability should be removed once you get used to it you just look at the radar more than where your aiming. Result is that you still look at it eventhou you don't have the radar enabled and don't focus on the game.

How about the competive side? Well there are a load of small things that must change. For example the special abilities you get from killing many enemies in a row. For clan games almost all of these should be removed (atleast the radar and the chopper).

Then the XP system should be changed so that you won't see the +10, +2 or +5 sign over your crosshair when you kill someone. Some times it feels like cheating. Shoot to the bush until you see the xp sign.

As for pc these all will definately be fixed with a mod.

I'm getting stuck at a "DOWNLOADING GAME SETTINGS" screen when I try to join matchmaking. I've left it sitting there for 10 minutes at a time with no change. Anyone else getting this?

[edit] Apparently this is a somewhat common issue. The solution right now is to "keep exiting and re-entering the beta every time the message stays for more than 30 seconds".

I had that at first - just restart your Xbox and try again. I solved the issue doing that, many others have had different success through other ways.

Added. Also my mic/headset stopped working a couple days ago, so I can't talk to anyone until I get that replaced, which is probably going to be when Halo 3 comes out.
