XP Pro sevice pack problems

I have recently reformatted my computer using Xp Pro, and I am having problems when updating. All the security updates go through, yet when I attempt to install the SP2, it freezes, forever. When I try to uninstall the SP, it freezes. Anyone know any fixes besides buying a new copy of windows, or reformatting?

Man,you should have went through these SP2 problems a year and a half ago like the rest of us,I cant remember how I fixed all my problems,look at the windows troubleshooting faq's

I had that once. I reformatted and it worked after that. I'm not sure if theres a way to fix this without a reformat... :|

Wow I've never had a problem installing Sp2 on any computer(which has been 5 computers) and thats installing Sp2 multiple times on them so about 9 times I've installed Sp2 on computers and I've never had a single problem.

Why don't you try slipstreaming SP2 that way SP2 is installed with the normal XP installation.
