Yakuza 3 dated for the West!

SEGA shouldn't have abandoned the PC.

Condemned2; never forget. Then SEGA was the condemned.

Yeah, it is really too bad this game won't be coming to PC. Kinda want.

Very Very Excited. The demo was great, as were the previous titles, so this should be an INSANELY awesome addition to my PS3 library. Good times.

This game is the only reason to own a console, in my opinion.

It's not enough. I buy like 1 game a year these days, and I own Condemned. If SEGA brought them to PC, I would buy Condemned 2 and Yakuza 3 on the same day, if possible.

whoever is in the marketing manage at sega is a moron. Releasing this game as same month as GoW3 and FFXIII comes out...

Looks like sega wants to bury this series in the west once and for all.

I finally got to play the demo last night and am disappointed. Visually the game is average and the combat is clunky verging on poor. The whole thing feels like a poor man's shenmue and screams last gen. The setting is great and I suspect i'd have some fun with the finished game, but quality software this is not.

It'll always be in the back of you mind - how awesome the game would have been if the engine was half as good as gta4 and the fighting not shite.

Yeah after hearing how awesome the yakuza series is supposed to be I was left feeling slightly underwhelmed. It does seem to have good setting, characters and story which is for me always one of the biggest pluses I can ask for in games.

BUT I still need serviceable and at least interesting gameplay (I don't think I could take it with this given how long yakuza games are supposed to be) not some weird, poor man's streets of rage :| BTW is it just me or is finding things on the map a massive pain in the arse?

I enjoyed the demo but I would never buy it (although I loled so hard at dragonball z style texting )

Good thing both those games getting ported to PC are extremely unlikely!

Wow it's quite something to see a bunch of people find the demo underwhelming when this series has such a diehard fan base. And this is why I don't always listen to cult/niche audiences :P

I don't see why this would be funny!

Another triumph of content over quality! You should get Stalker :p

Oh, I should have known. If it's not coming to the PC, it's because it sucks. PC gamers are ruthless and utterly god damn brutal in their 'reviews' and comments.

Oh come on - i'm probably the most obvious console fanboy on this forum. The demo sucked because it's shoddy and cheap. There's no excuse for the combat and the engine wouldn't stress a PS2 - it's like an alpha build that needs 6 months of polish and tweaking. It'll probably be ok, but should have been great.

I'm just saying, if a 3rd party game isn't coming to the PC, it's probably because it's not that good.

What the demo fails to do is give you a real sense of the scope of a Yakuza title. These are not games; they are Japanese culture simulators. The vast amount of things you can do in these games is truly mind-blowing and they all serve to immerse you in the Japanese culture like no other game. The story is another huge part of things that could be easily over-looked in a demo due to its length. All of you whiny babies crying about Shenmue would do well to pick this up if for no other reason than to show the publishers that there is a strong demand for this sort of game on these and other shores outside of Japan. I will be getting mine when it releases.

Yeah, yeah - the fighting was still shit and it looked like a PS2 game :p

I guess that makes Godfather and Mafia games an American culture simulators?

Plz, tell me that was a joke.

Hahaha! Fine. I personally liked the fighting (though my thumbs hurt after the nightclub brawl) and the details in the shops made me think more of Heavy Rain than a PS2 game...but that's just me. ;)

LOL--no it wasn't a joke. I didn't mean the gangster parts of the game. I mean the immersion in sights and sounds and activities that are pretty specific to Japan these days. I am by no means saying that Japanese culture = Yakuza. These games are about a lot more than that and that is what I am talking about. Good times. I wish there were more games that made you feel like you were really walking around a living breathing culture so different from my own (US).

Yakuza 3 is censored everywhere except for the German version. So **** this game. It's a worth rental now.

That sounds backwards. German games are always censored with green blood, etc.

I think your source had a mix-up.

No. Sega royally ****ed this up. The German if officially the UNCENSORED version, while the other European/American versions are all censored.

Meaning some of the side quests were cut from the content.

Source plox. I don't believe you.

The german version being uncensored version is questionable. Forget what I said about that.

But the game's contents are definitely cut down.
