After watching this trailer, I can easily say that this is the Game of the Show for TGS 2008, for me at least. The facial animations look INCREDIBLE, the character models are insanely detailed, the environments look huge and full of life, the variety in gameplay is HUGE. Man, this looks like about 50x the game that GTA is. It ups everything by a big big margin. What do you guys think? Pretty damn impressive, no?

(Do yourself a favor though and watch the HD version--it is well worth it. )

Meh, after playing Yakuza 1 and 2 I can't really picture this as being a GTA-killer.. Ofcourse if one would be a PS3 fanboy I might understand that they'd want to think that, seeing as Yakuza 3 is PS3 exclusive and GTAIV is not.:>

Meh ... first game wasn't very good. I fast forwarded a bit in the trailer and there was some creepy Japanese dating minigame. Most of it was just cutscene though.

I don't see how this could possibly be "50x" the game that GTAIV is. Especially since it's so story focused and the story in the original was pretty awful.

Crysis has better faces. The ones in Yakuza three look realistic, but Crysis actually looks like real faces.

This is one of the games I've been waiting for from SEGA. I liked Shenmue. I'd definitely buy this if it came to the PC. Otherwise, no.

Yeah, so I have had fun seeing how many people are not hyped for this game. The reasons I say it will be better than GTA are that it looks like a better story, better combat, better environments, and loads of other things to do. Yakuza 2 was pretty darn good for the PS2 so you all might want to check it out and read up on this one too before poo-pooing it too badly.

And my other top games of the show are Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Wii game from Vanillaware), and The Another World (DS game by Level-5 in collaboration with Studio Ghibli).

We fully expect you to live up to your word. How you manage to eat a forum post is your problem, but you have to do it.

And yeah, those faces are not that good at all. They are just high poly, with meh textures and usual blinn shader. Plus the mocap is pretty bad too, and just screams "IM MOTION CAPTURE LOOK AT ME"

They need better animators.
