OK Y'know when you put in the BF2 disc and the menu comes up and the 2nd choice is "Update nVidia Driver" or something like that? well I just figured ah screw it, I'll just install the dang driver, so I did, I was a little scared when it said "Windows advises you not to install this component, It may mess up your computer now or in the future" So I just figured, screw that also, if it screws up I got another driver I can Pop in, so I installed it, now My Graphics Card Is SOOOOO Cool!!

Graphics Highest They Could Go On BF2 Before Driver Installation:
Terrain: Low
Effects: Low
Geometry: Low
Texture: High
Lighting: Low
Everything else: Off
Texture Filtering: High

Graphics Highest They Can Go After Driver Installation:
Terrain: High
Effects: Medium
Geometry: High
Texture: High
Lighting: Medium
Everything Else: Off
Texture Filtering: High

YAY FOR THIS DRIVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before, Even with only textures on high, It took like 10 minutes to load, and when it started, it was still loading while I was Playing

Now, It loads in like 3 minutes, And runs smooth When I Start Playing It, I never knew a driver installation could soup up my graphics card That much!

IT'S COOOOOOOLLL!!

I'm led to believe you havn't installed drivers for anything ever. Have you installed the drivers for your motherboard at all? what about sound card?

Windows drivers shouldn't be used for anything.

Just a bit stupid that's all.

HEY! me no stupid... It's just that I don't wanna mess with anything, because If I screw up my computer I'm gonna have to pay for it, 5 other people in my house use this computer, so If I screw it up, I'm F***ed

And I don't even know what motherboard I have, Also I don't know what sound card I have.... How can I update them?

Any time you're going to install drivers for something Windows comes out and says it's an "unsigned driver" or something and tells you not to trust it...forget about those silly warnings.

I did that once and I had to reformat. :|

anyway, the amount of RAM changed my texture level.

You must have done something stupid :|

Video card drivers are (generaly) never signed, so most times you have to screw it.

And i'm amazed that you've never used video card drivers, ever. A video card that doesn't have drivers will usually struggle showing a web page, i'm amazed it ran BF2 at all!

I'm sure i"ll have orgasms upon orgasms if I can get me a better videocard, but right now, low everything is the best I'm gonna get on a 9600XT. Source starts to shit itself on High settings.

Halflife 2 on my comp can go high everything (This is without the update) and just medium models, when I try to put my models high, the game crashes...

oh ya sry for double post but, My internet already struggles to show a webpage, I got dial-up :(

Speaking of slow internets I've yet to bump myself back up to cable. Frankly I havn't been bothered to do it yet and the ISDN at the moment is dirt cheap.

My DSL is keeping me quite comfy :)

On a completely unrelated note, figured I'd start a virus scan, got 2 files cleaned.....woo, that was quick D:

Maybe I'll defrag again later.

I play on medium on R9550@~R9600pro comfortably, so I guess you have to remove shit from your computer :P

My motherboard is so old, the manfacturers dont even have my model listed.

What shit? oh, the lack of items on my computer you mean? I keep a clean process tree thank you :P
I also enjoy playing on 64 player maps, when I should be doing 32 if I really feel like lagging. But every time I look in the distance at 90% visibility, I lag. Never tried anything lower.

I know. Then I seem to have done something bad to my HDD. :|

Something like manually trying to rollback the drivers. Will never do again.

I wish I could get better drivers for my computer, but I have a mobility Radeon card. The newest Omega drivers **** the games graphics up.
