I went thru the whole game already w/o major problems but later decided to replay some parts and got severe stuttering with freezes 5-10 minutes into the game.

Guess what all this started to happen only after I switched my mouse to PS/2 port (I was just fiddling with it and left it like that)

Plugged the mouse back into USB and - voila, everything is back to normal.

Maybe it'll help at least some of you guys...

That's the wierdest one yet :-)

I have my mouse plugged into the PS/2 mouse port. I'll give that a try .............. DOH! Already sent my copy of HL2 back to Amazon. Shame. NOT!

Can someone confirm that if you have no stutters and using a PS/2 mouse??

Mine stops stuttering when I don't look at the monitor. Switching on the kitchen light, pressing the number '2' on my tv remote control and turning my keyboard around the other way also work. It's a miracle, praise th' lawd

I deleted all but two of my game saves and it stopped.
I deleted my whole HL2/Steam folder, Packaged up the HL2 DVD & shipped it back to Amazon. That did the track as well.

:D funny

Anyway I think it may be some Logitech driver issue on my particular comp or maybe irq issue I don't know

I'm posting it as my 2 cents in the piggy bank of HL2 troubles

LMAO, i was close to thinking the samething. Thanks, you made me see the light from this darkness i have found myself in.

Just for the record my HL2 runs stutter free when i do the hokey pokey, pick up my keyboard and smash it over my head three times then watch series 1 boxset of The Simpsons in reverse. Not a problem at all, thank you valve.
