Sorry about this, but this is the first time I have upgraded since February 1999 and I want it to be right for current games, considering my budget.

All from Ebuyer.co.uk

Graphics:
PNY Verto GeForce 6 6600GT AGP8x 128MB GDDR3 Retail Box

Processor:
AMD (Winchester) Athlon 64bit 3000+ 939pin 512kb L2cache 90nm Retail Boxed Processor With 3 Year Warranty and Fan Included

Motherboard:
Asus A8V Deluxe Socket-939 VIA/KT800Pro - ATX Sound Gb-Lan IEEE1394 USB2 800FSB WiFi Retail Box

Ram:
2X OCZ Premier 512MB DDR400 PC3200 CL 2.5-3-3-7 With Heatspreader (LIFETIME WARRANTY)

Harddrive
Maxtor 6Y200M0 Plus 9 200gb Serial ATA150 7200rpm 8mb Cache - OEM

DVD Drive Writer:
Liteon DRW3S121 12x DVD R/RW Dual Layer IDE OEM

Few Questions:
1. Does that seem okay?
2. Does all the necessary cables come with a SATA drive?
3. Does the DVD writer support Dual Layer Writing?
( URL for reference HERE )
4. Would I need another Power Supply? (My current Power Supply doesn't tell me the Wattage on the back of it so should I get another one to be on the safe side?)

I would mainly be using it to play games like Half-Life 2, Far Cry and Doom 3 and would hope to run them at least semi-flawlessly and while I don’t expect everything to be up and running without a hitch over Christmas, it would still be nice if it would.

PS:
Upgrading from:
P2 400MHZ
256MB SDRAM PC100
60GIG Maxtor 5400RPM
Nvidia TNT2 32MB

Since it says, Dual Layer. It is a dual layer writer.

You are going to HAVE to upgrade your ram. I would recommend you upgrading from 256 to either 512 or 1 Gig.

I would upgrade your PSU. That think might be ancient and when you get your parts it will cause your computer to crash. Go with a 420 Watt PSU.
