Righty, I already own a computer that I built myself..

It's set up like this: 1, 2, 3

It's got some blue lights in it and they look like this

The internals currently look like this

And here's my work area

I've purchased a new PSU and a few funky lights, so hopefully all will be spinky :D

I'll post updates \o/

No pun intended, but couldn't you spend that money you spent on the lights on an upgrade or something?

Or is your comp perfect? :borg:

Money spent on lights £10. So no. The only thing I'd want to upgrade at the moment is my RAM.

Specs:

AMD Athelon XP 2600+ CPU
768mb Unbranded Dance Dance Revolution RAM
ASRock KS78X Motherboard
Hercules ATi 9800SE softmodded to 9800, OCed to 415mHz Core and 365mHz Memory
2 Seagate 40gb 7,200rpm HDDs
MSI CD-RW 52x 32x 52x
MSI DVD-ROM 16x
400W shite-arse PSU (Replaced with a Tagan beastie :) )

The actual upgrade is adding a fan, and a new PSU :)

He should get a GPU cooler and overclock it instead hehe.

Edit: ah we posted almost at the same time, well if your card is already oc'ed and stable then forget the cooler.

Why on earth would I want a faster processor?

And CB|Para. The fan is going to be angled at the GPU, so more Overclocking \o/

Here's the kit on the table: Stealth PSU :D

half of the wires there are enough for me to go nuts. That's why I never try to **** around with comps.

what's that giant fan next to the fan that's on the window? Is that your heatsink for your cpu? man that looks huge!

Just being goofy, but what is that hammer for????? Final PC looks very cool - Great specs, O/C that CPU!
Heh, nah, thats not a goofy question, it's just there, not for the computer stuff, it's for the bathroom redecorating we're doing :)

Yep, thats the heatsink and fan for my CPU ;o

wow it's massive ...must be a third party heatsink. ...bet it rocks for overclocking ...nice job btw

Thanks :)

Ain't touched the CPU OCing wise, it's still @ 1917mHz, mainly due to having to OC via jumpers at the moment, but I'll fix that soon :)

Right now, it's time to boost the GPU >:]

but you already softmodded it ...what do you have in mind? a new vid card? btw what cooling did you use to cool the vidcard? stock? or did you get a 3rd party gpu cooler?

It's already softmodded, but I want to see if it can take 500mHz Core 400mHz Memory. I use stock cooling, the stuff Hercules do.. but they don't make GPUs anymore. In fact, ATi refuse to aknowledge my card ever exsisted.. too easy to get more bang for your buck from.

I got a heatsink off a GeForce 4 MX a while back, and I think I might whack that on there, give it a bit more cooling power :)

man you must know what you're doing cuz most peeps wouldnt overclock with a stock gpu fan

Heh, nah, just increase by 5mHz using Radclocker, then check for artifacts/heat-based lockups in something strenuos (for Doom 3 I had to downclock my card ;( down to normal 9800 rates) like Doom 3 or UT2004 :)

I have a couple of case fans right near the GPU so, it's all good :D

good, you wanna come by my house and overclock my 9800 pro to xt speeds? ;)

ya but think of the bragging rights I'd have!!!

I could finally tell all my friends what an uber-geek I am :)

It's actually a 380 - 412 according to ATi's site.. so it's a 32mHz step up :) easily done with stock cooling tbh (thats just the core)

Nice additions.
Black looks so sleek. Especially that PSU. ;)

Hope you like it.

You should try clean up the clutter a bit. It isn't too bad but it's there. I noticed the wires are twisted around eachother. Come like that? Makes things a little easier I bet.

Could fold the IDE cables close to the side and try to hide the power cables.
Personally, I just put electric tape around the wires going to the molex connectors.
I've used tubing and wire loom before but that takes up more space. Electric Tape doesn't take up any extra space and that's good especially when you have that many cables. hehe
Cleans the look up too since it would be black instead of a rainbow of colors. Well, Yellow, Red and Black anyway. :)

Looks, nice, but that's a hardcore mess. I'll post you a link to the wiing tutorial when it's back online, but i'll show you photos of my PC so you cna see see whati'm talking about.

The key is to run the wires behind your mobo tray.

This is what my comp looked like to start: http://s89737224.onlinehome.us/photo/PC/opencase.jpg

This is what It looks like now: http://s89737224.onlinehome.us/photo/PC lights/cleaned.JPG

And with the lights off: http://s89737224.onlinehome.us/photo/PC lights/clean lights.JPG

hehe.

oh yeah, and before someone says soemthing, my ram has been since switched around to run dual channel :p

Heh. Never thought of putting my numerous spares behind the mobo tray.
My case is quite small and cramped actually, so I think I'll invest in a new case soon :)

Also, get some random UV reactive cable sleeving, and stick a purple UV light somewhere :)

My upgrade list is thus:
Large, black case, with a sidepanel :p
2x Kingston HypreX 512mb RAM
Cold Cathode Fan
Northbridge heatsink and fan
'nother LED

Be about £200 ;/

I want crazy lights on my computer!!

i have a plain white case.. BORING

I have my CD drives lower and I stuff a lot of wires above them. :)
Tied of course.

Yeah, I'm having problems with the huge amounts of molex wires! Goddamn decent PSU :)

Do you approve of the Antec case Asus? I like it because it's not a crappy looking Xaser case.. can't stand the thermaltake ones :p
