Your e-mail adress made public?

Is anyone here gonna play at net cafe's using thier own account?
Are you annoyed by the fact that your e-mail adress will be open to the public if you do? Every steam account has an associated ID# right?...why dont they give us the option to use that? Any word on how they will address this? Do you think it will be a problem?

Heres the problems I can see coming from it...Punks get e-mails from cafe computers and have fun with it...The cafes themselves collect the e-mails and sell you out to thier partners...and so on. If/when some starts creating malicious material for HL...IE cheats/ account hacks/virii and so on, they can have access to your e-mail. Granted some of this may never come to pass, but why leave private info so vunerable?

I think you are thinking of a lot of Worst case sceanarios here. An e-mail address isn't really that private, in my opinion.

But I don't see how your e-mail address will be revealed, really. Just when you log on but if you are that worried about it, you can relog on under a fake e-mail so no one will see it.

They use the e-mail address because it's easier to remember than an number.
