I just saw Hostel (4/10) and realized that I had never seen a decent gore movie in my life.

So what are your favorite horror/killing spree/gorefest/torture/ films?

By the way, does anyone remember the name of the movie in which two guys find themselves chained up by the ankle in opposite corners? And like, the blonde guy's family is held hostage or something.
And at the end, the blonde guy decides to cut his foot off with a saw
.

Saw.

Gore... Unless it's an important part of something else, I don't like it.

Ichi the Killer

watch it in Japanese with English subtitles, it's awesome

Saving Private Ryan

Seriously, I hate gore horror movies.

Black Hawk Down had some gore.
Suicide Club - A WTF movie
Irreversible - french movie and its GREAT!
SAW 3 - out of all saw movies had the most gore.

I'm generally not one to exclude and rag on an entire genre of film... but gore movies are some pretty stupid shit IMO.

It's not that the genre is stupid, it's that all or most of the movies in the genre are stupid.

Not really into the gore genre, hate Saw and Hostel series with a passion. Although, I saw parts of Peter Jackson's Braindead on Film 4 a few months back, that was pretty cool.

Try Dawn of the Dead. I'm not into zombie movies or anything, and I haven't watched it properly, but I did see intestines getting ripped out of people and samurai swords going through people's heads.

Well I think primary gore/horror films are crap. But good films that are indluged to have gore that I have seen? Black Hawk Down was pretty sick at places, Saving Private Ryan would be the worst though, the scene when the medic is shot was horrible to witness.

Pretty much.

Asuka mentioned Irreversible, which is quite easily the most disturbing and difficult to watch movie i've seen. It's hard to say whether it's good or not when all you want to do afterwards is clean your eyes, ears and brain with bleach and forget it. It's not a gore flick, though, so don't expect that - it does have some truly gory moments.

My favourite gory movie is another french flick - Switchblade Romance (Haute tension), which is one of the few horror/gore movies that's entertained me from start to finish. Wonderfully gruesome and horrible. Avoid the dubbed and cut version if you can.

I don't like the movie of the Resident Evil, but the laser scene was awesome.

Feast.

A kid gets swallowed whole and vomited back up all over some douchebag. Maggots, shoes and all.

Braindead by Peter Jackson.

That film is soo funny in parts - The scene in the park with the baby hahaha! Just found out on IMDB that scene came into existence by the film being under budget at the point they were to wrap up.
Also, has anyone seen Men Behind the Sun? It's an old school ****ed up gore film about Japanese war atrocities based around a biological weapons lab.

Original Dawn on the Dead. I liked the first Saw film, not 2 and haven't seen 3.

ricki- o, ricki- o, ricki- o, ricki- o, RICKI-O!!
