Mine are Do Make Say Think, Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, El Ten Eleven, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, A Silver Mt. Zion, and recently One Mile North.

How about you?

Explosions, Godspeed, Silver Mt Zion, Mono... and Sparrows Swarm and Sing although they really are a lot like Godspeed.

I'd like to see Sparrows and Silver Mt Zion live. Already seen Explosions and Mono... they are awesome.

By the way, guess who's touring with the Smashing Pumpkins this fall? ...Explosions! It will be weird! They are also going to be on Austin City Limits (on tv, not the actual festival) sometime in October.

Explosions in the Sky for the win! Only post-rock band I listen to, currently. I'll probably look further into the genre later, but I'm content with EitS for now.

You need some
Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Fly Pan Am
A Silver Mt. Zion
Eluvium
Do Make Say Think
Mogwai (On occasion)
The Microphones/Mount Eerie (on occasion)
Sigur Ros
Six Organs of Admittance

EITS
Mogwai
Sigur Ros
Godspeed....
The Six parts Seven
Cue( dont have too much of their stuff, like a few songs)

i'm trying to get into some other bands atm 'coz i like the genre alot, i dunno who to try, whoevers most like EITS i guess, i find mogwai can be quite hit and miss at times but i really like them, some people i know think they are depressing, my sister told me to turn down my music last night saying it was the most depressing thing shes heard, i was listening to Tracy by mogwai.

Isis are more post-metal, though, if we want to be picky with silly genres. :P Although the earlier stuff is just pure sludgy noise., which is awesome.

Red Sparowes are a personal favourite, although I don't like the new album too much. Mogwai are fantastic and were brilliant at Supersonic last week. I've not listened to EITS for a while, new album was quite good but nothing ear-catching, unlike The Earth Is A.... Do Make Say Think have a good jumble of really good songs amongst alot of quite dull songs, but overall a damned good band.

I'd probably say A Silver Mt. Zion are where it's at for me. Never a lacking release in my eyes.

Their newest album really sounds nothing like metal at all. I'd say that more than 75% of it is all clean guitars.

Ah, well the newest album, yes. :P But the other 90% of their backcat. is pretty ear destroying stuff. Well, perhaps now Oceanic.

I'd recommend This Will Destroy You as being most like EITS.

Actually their song structures are a bit different but people tend to compare TWDY to EITS a lot. Maybe it's because they're both from Texas, or maybe it's those nice clean guitar tones.

Yeah, I listened to a track by TWDY a while back and I thought it might be a leaked song from the [now not so] new Explosions album. The title was something to do with planets - I can't remember now, but whatever. Good band.

Just bought the This Will Destroy You cd yesterday. 'Tis good.

And I've been listening to 65daysofstatic recently. Not one of my favorite bands, but this song is awesome:

Too bad I'm flying out of Denver 5 hours before they play there (with This Will Destroy You...).

Godspeed's Lift Your Skinny Fists album is nothing short of a masterpiece.

I also like Mogwai and EITS a lot, and some Boards of Canada. I've been wanting to try out A Silver Mt. Zion, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

edit: Just had a listen to a couple of This Will Destroy You's songs, they are stunning!

cool song

I do believe Fear Before The March of Flames are playing on that bill with This Will Destroy You and 65dos. Man, what a weird gig that'd be. A nice, head nodding clam crowd for This Will, then a bit more movement for 65dos's weird and wonderful blend of exciting and energetic melodies and then full blown chaos for Fear Before...

Christ, you can't imagine how much I wish this tour hit the UK.

Been listening to Set Fire to Flames' ''Sings Reign Rebuilder'' album over the last few days. Beautiful stuff. Nice blend of Godspeed You! and A Silver Mt. Zion but with more ambience, if possible.

''Horses in the Sky'' shouldn't be too hard to find, both on the 'net or in stores. Great album, really recommend it to any fans of Godspeed.

Just started getting into some God is an Astronaut; amazing stuff. I was avoiding exploring more of the genre because I was afraid of being disappointed, but it's turning out great so far!

God Is An Astronaut aren't too bad, i saw them live here not too long ago, they are an irish band, had to leave the gig early as my mate was sick.
