Howard Shore's sountrack for LOTR is quite boring. It's just the same melody over and over and over, just slower, faster or more/less dramatic.
No, Danny Elfman is the ultimate music composer, and I wish that he would make a soundtrack for a game. He's amazing! The only soundtrack that he's made that didn't fancy me was the soundtrack for Spiderman. It just didn't have the touch...
But his soundtracks for The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman (as mentioned before), Mars Attacks...well they're all incredible! Actually so far he's made every single soundtrack for Tim Burton's films...except Ed Wood. Ed Wood's soundtrack is made by Howard Shore and his version of The Swan Lake....well...*sigh* It's fantastic
Knights Of The Old Republic
Hidden & Dangerous 2
Call Of Duty
C&C: Generals/Zero Hour
Medieval: Total War
The Last Samurai (there's this one track composed by Hans Zimmer...beautiful, it's called 'Idyll's End' on the soundtrack)
The Great Escape
LOTR
Predator (just the theme tune thank you very much)
