I'm interested to know how this forum's (or at least the off-topic section) politcal makeup is divided.

Seems we have a lot of left-leaners, as well as a large dose of right-wingers.

So, what political ideal do you adhere to?

And by the way, the literal meanings of liberal and conservative have no bearing on the actual beliefs of the people we call liberals and conservatives. And no, liberal is not in the middle.
 
Liberal and conservative depend on the society for their meaning, also.

For example: Both liberals and conservatives of the western world are strongly against injustices by some of the conservatives in the east (IE: Taliban, etc)

Liberal in the middle made me chuckle.. were you kidding or not? If using anything aside from the politcal compass already posted, you should have simply "moderate" in the middle :d

In Canada Liberal is basically right in the middle of the political spectrum.

Personally I don't really know where I am, I like some conservative policies and I like some socialist policies, heck I even like a few communist policies.

In terms of government style I think I may be something of a"Technocrat". However I am really unsure.

I'm probably a moderate liberal I had to use a label. But I don't follow any one party or group. I follow my own opinions, which may agree with several groups policies depending on the subject.

Liberal (not the canadian party) is supposed to be in the middle, between socialist and conservative. Liberal is a supposed to be balanced between right and left.

The term 'Liberal' in America is significantly more left-wing than it is should be; it's equated to socialist. It should not be used in this way on an international forum such as this. Liberal, in the internation sense, IS moderate.

The spectrum is intended to be generalized, encompassing any and all general political ideologies.

Just because a right winger is opposed to other right wingers doesn't change the fact that he's still on the right.

I am getting fecking tired of hering that liberals are this, conservatives are this. STATE YOUR REASONS. Tell me you are for free market economics or your are against abortion. Something to explain your motives.

Whats wrong with gay marriages??

I can understand that a gay couple adopting a child may not be in the child's best interest but i dont see whats the big deal with gay marriages?
