What kind of system have you lot got to play HL2. A high end PC or one you doubt will even work with HL2.

This thread is missing a vital ingredient....

my PC is 1800XP 512MB 9800pro CS:S runs very well at high settings. But I imagine that the AI in the single player will cripple my CPU

I belive I'll be able to play the game using 1280*1024 and a mix of medium/high settings

AMD Athlon 2500+ @ 3000, Radeon9800, 512 MB RAM

2600+ @ 3000+
768mb PC3500
9600pro overclocked

with the 4.12beta drivers, CS:S finally runs like a dream! :D

I hope HL2 runs like a silk sliperly slide :)

athlon 3000+
1.25GB DDR Ram
Ati 9600xt

I want a x800 xt platinum though. But this would rape my wallet and/or credit card. :frown:

Mine is somewhere in between average and high end, so i voted high end :)

Hm, I hope my AMD Athlon XP 1700+, 512 MB DDR RAM and GeForce3 Ti200 128DDR will be able to run it.. I'm a bit worried about the gfx, but I'll be getting a new in about a month or so :)

2.4 P4 overclocked at 2.8
1Gb Ram overcloked
9800Pro overclocked

Athlon XP 1800+ at 1500 mhz
512 mb
GeForce 3 Ti sumthin
Struggling a bit, but it'll run it apparently

2.4 @ 2.8
512 MB ram
9700 Pro overclocked :-D

About a year ago, this system was high-end and HL2 was presented. Now a year later this is the medium system :-(

You forgot the comedy option, "Stone age PC."

(Voted high end pc...the best)

Considered high end I think.

AMD Athlon 3400+ 64-bit
512MB PC 3200 400mhz
Point of View 6800 GT

2600+ Athlon XP
512 RAM
Overclocked 9800pro
80Gb HDD
Microsoft Internet Keyboard
Mercury Optical 5-button Mouse
Canon Scanner
Epson 790 Printer
Special Reserve Beech-effect Professional Desk
Blue High-back Gas-lift Operators Chair
7-way Surge-protecting 230v Splittter...

Wait, did I get carried away again?

The joys of being unemployed children :p

1.4ghz - Athlon XP 1800+
640mb PC133 Ram
Asus Siluro FX5600 Ultra Otes

BUT I do have a DVD Surround System ;) Hooked up to a 5.1 card - so at least what I lack graphically, I'll be making up for in Noise :p

Im going to play with the following:

A64 3500+
GF6800 (vanilla)
1024MB PC3200

Upgraded to this about 2 months ago mainly because of hl2.

AMD 3 Ghz (32bit)
1024 RAM (400 Mhz)
Club 3D X800 pro (Overclocked)
SB Audigy (5.1 Speakers, two 800 wats Subwoofers and powerful amplifier :) )

Athlon 64 2800 OC'ed to 3200
1024 MB PC 2700
80 GB Seagate Barracuda
Geforce 6800 with all pipes unlocked and overclocked to 400/800.

This baby is fast :D

Athlon XP 2600+, Radeon 9800 Pro, 768MB DDR Ram.

I'll be just fine.

p4 2.4 (getting cheap 2.8 soon)
gforce fx 5700 256mb
1gb ram
nice 15" moniter

Average system :p

15" monitor? Believe me, you should upgrade. I think I got more of a benefit from upgrading to a 19 inch monitor than from my 9600 to 6800 graphics card upgrade.

Intel 486SX 25MHZ CPU (overclocked to 33MHZ)
8MB RAM
1MB VRAM
200MB Hard Disk Drive
Tandy 15" Monitor
...I don't know what Half-Life 2 is, but this baby runs Doom and Rise of the Triad like a dream.

a2.4k+(tbred),
768 mb ram
9600xt fb-edt.

cs:s runs fine, bottleneck is in fact my sd-ram, but there is no sene upgrading to a ddr-capable a board. have to build a completely new system sometimes, well, i'll see...

edit: display is a 21" siemens-nixdorf crc.

2.4 Ghz Intel Northwood 2
1024 MB RAM Kingston Value
9800 Pro Sapphire Atlantis

Though for some odd reason I voted average...

"Average... (2+ GHz, 500+MB)"

Just hope I get a stable framerate so I can enjoy the game. :)
