If I may start. I feel that yes, EP1 will start after the end of HL2, but possiably shortly before the G-man leaves.

My theory is that with the Reactor having that small explosion, is just enough to losen G-man's grip of Freeman and frees him.
But drops him in another location by the reactor (remember the openings of the levels of the reactor where the Combine come out to stop you?
With the reactor suddenly blowing up, would weaken the force fields of the Citadel JUST enough that Gordon could of been flung into 1 of them).

I defentally feel the blast of the reactor will keep the G-man from putting you in stasis for HL3. Basically, we're talking of an "Alternate Ending" for HL2.

THAT is what I think happens.

Discuss your theories.

My i smell somebody is way off, i believe the vorts help gordon get away from g-man, but thats all i know

I know how HL2: Ep1 starts, but I'll let you guys guess away. :smoking: I dont want to ruin it for you guys.

The vorts help him? How? The only ones in the area at that time is you, Alyx, and the G-Man.
You saying the Vorts can teleport in and rescue Freeman? If so, how come they couldn't help when you where in the Citadel?

It has to be the reactor. Only possibility. That reactor is too powerful (hell. It's going to go into meltdown and blow up City 17!) to not be used as a ploy to disrupt time and space (and the G-Man's control over you).

Another possiability for the reactor. Being powered by Dark Energy, could of sucked you out of where the G-Man is keeping you. It might work as a Black Hole.

You know what I think would be clever? If after the G-Man loses control of Gordon, he falls back on his backup man, Shephard. That would be so crazy.

Sadly you are wrong.

The vorts tele port to where you and gman are (in a weird black space place like at the end of HL:2), the vorts pop up and well they take you away from gman.

How do I know, well from A recent video.

Here's my theory. I think you'll come to see that it's dead on.

Vortigaunts rescue you from stasis, you wake up under a pile of rubble where dog finds you.

I'd like to know just "where" that black space is, and how Vortigaunts learned to teleport themselves into it.

Yeah. I'd like to know that too.
Lets see this video. Prove it. :)

The videos have MAJOR spoilers at times, so please watch at your own risk.

I love spoilers. They don't ruin it for me. They enhance it. :)

Isn't that the video where the Gman is shown reflecting a blue glow (but you can't see what it is coming from), and added with the fact that a "Blue Vortigaunt" was found in the GCF, seems to be why people are deducing that Vorts come to the rescue?

That and the fact it's been said in a preview/article, I forgot which one.

Guys, don't throw spoiler guesses around, they'll soon see when they play the game in 7 hours. :)
