while everyone is focused on the US elections (in a weeks time), no-one seems to
have remembered that the zambian presidential elections take place this thursday.

today, i witnessed this happening, they (the people) have discovered 2 trucks full of
fake ballot papers. apparently there are 3 more trucks on the way. (god help them when they arrive).

so, as i write this, a large crowd is gathering not all too far from where i live , blocking the roads and rioting. to top it all off a couple of trucks have gone around the outlying towns picking up more people so that they too can have fun in the riot.

im not sure why im posting this here, but i want to know what you people think. ill update later with whats going on . we have very little news access here so if you hear anything please post it.

ive just found out that all shops and businesses have closed and the rioters are getting closer. Africa is completely ****ed up.

So Zambia is going the same way as Rhodesia I take it?

its usually really calm. its just the fact that theyre all pissed off that the elections might be rigged.
its only gonna be a matter of time before it gets violent i think, the police have already bought out the tear gas.

but then again the police here do go over the top. a few days ago my neighbour hit his dad.
the police came, tazered him , beat him with sticks then took him away. the police saw his friend crying cos of wat was happening so they took him away too.(for crying)((seriously))

weve just found out (from my gardener) that all the papers were marked for the current ruling party.
bunch of corrupt ****s

Shit man, hang in there : S
I'd be scared shitless..
Do you have a guns/swords/nukes/sharp sticks?

definately one of the more interesting days of my life. tis all over now(for today), but everyone has a feeling that either tomorrow, or definately thursday(election day) it will all kick off again.

police eventually came, beat the shit out of everyone with sticks and teargas, so that 'dispersed' the crowd rather quickly.
now we wait to see what happens tomorrow.

are like rich or something?

atleast you have some chance to elect a president unlike countryes like zimbawe

1. if i was rich i wouldnt live here. id have a big villa on the beach in Brasil and a yacht.
2. i wasnt born in zambia so i cant vote, and im white so ill probably be blamed for this sooner or
later. (im not racist its just what happens in africa, zim is a good example)
3. zimbabwe causes its own problems. i used to live there till suddenly it was decided we 'stole'
the land we lived on and were forced to leave before we got shot.
4. like i said, zim (and africa on the whole) causes its own problems. anyone whos lived here
probably understands.

well sorry for the rich coment,is just that since the only africans menbers here are from southafrica and such

one thing I know is that many problems comes from ethnic stuffs, like kenya where the 2 candidates where of diferent ethnies and there was riots of people of those ethnies

that tribal stuff doesnt really happen here (that i know of). its just the two political parties, and ones
supposedly rigged the vote, so, well ive already said whats happening.

and if your trying to say you dont like south africans, i dont like them much either.(noisy buggers)
