A few years back, my friends and I had a time we called "Brutal Honesty Hour". During this time, usually late at night, as it is now, we tolerated no B.S., no melodrama, and said exactly what we thought. Mostly we were just young and intoxicated, but it was an interesting experiment.
So here's my brutal honesty. I suck at mapping. I've created several sets for my "proof of concept" pieces. They've been functional, the scripts and scenes look great, the triggers and entities I've created function properly, and the end results are acceptable. However, I've noticed in each instance that there is a visual flair lacking. I've tried some techniques to spice things up, but in the end, my rooms and buildings are just bland.
So I'm putting out a call to arms. Ideally, we'd love to pick up a dedicated mapper or six on the team, but for the time being, I'd settle for someone who is willing to let me use some maps to put together some short pieces. These are concept scenes to establish a strong set of tools and to cement our presence in the machinima and hl2 community.
If you are willing and able, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or through PM on this forum.
