Meh, the man is playing to the gallery these days with his reviews. The sheer awfulness of his Witcher review (or lack of) kind of brought it home to me. He got his 'job' as result of his infamous youtube panning of Fable in which he actually made some salient points, but when it comes to a game that actually delivers on them, he completely 360s and goes for the cheap laughs. Yes his skits are funny at times, but much like Dennis Pennis he's a one trick pony, and his reviews aren't worth the paper they are written on in terms of genuine critical assessment.

Couldn't disagree more. Yahtzee's reviews cater simply to his own taste, not the masses of fans he has acquired in such a short time.

"Genuine critical assessment" is a pretty shit way to bring down the Zero Punctuation reviews too. Since they merely started as a simple idea for fun to not only criticise or praise games, but to have a poke at the overall gaming media and audience.

"One trick pony" is entirely unfair too, because if you've bothered to look, the guy also has a few of his own developed indie games and his own site chock full of writings and comics.
