Zero Punctuation: Far Cry 2

Was he trying to do a South African accent? kept turning out to be a Posh-Londoner/Austrailian accent

I too was confused by the horrible Sith Ifrican accent. It started like he was parodying the chars or something then at some indeterminate point he lapsed into it for the rest of the review, which wasn't good since it made him hard to understand even for me.

That and the relative tiredness of FC2 by now makes this review fairly missable, mild chucklesomeness notwithstanding....

Ah forgot all about this, I was playing world of goo.

*watches*

Meh, that was one of his worst. His accent attempts were horrible.

I'm not really bothered about him anymore. Also he keeps using the sandwiches line too much.

It was kinda funny. The accent was funny but did make him hard to understand at times though and really did seem to come of as posh rather than south african.

But I did like the things like the nutmeg and rice pudding, the apocalypse now reference, sandwich wrappers and zordon :)

Oh and far cry 2 was not done on the cryengine I believe.

I'm sorry, but well written dialogue? Far Cry 2's conversations were horrid. The full stops in the captions may as well of been non-existent.

''Go to the mining camp and get the diamonds watch out for our own guys the explosives are in the truck you'll be payed later the camp is to the northwest.''

Probably refering to the way it was said, not what was said.

It's decently written (well it's not badly written), just horridly acted, which I think is where the accent was coming from. Accurate or not he sounded exactly like that one character who kept calling you "china."

Good but not one of his better ones. Kind of hard to say anything original about FC2 at this point though.

I thought the accent was terrible on purpose...

Which is built upon the original Cry Engine as I remember, if it wasn't said, its logical to assume it was, no company remakes an engine from scratch, its not cost effective these days.

I laughed, but not one of his best.

His heart didn't really seem to be in it.

Still, I lol'd at the accent.

Uuegh.... :/ Getting tired of this guy now. It would actually be better if he released reviews less frequently... say every second or third week.

Well it had to happen sometime.

I basically agree, I stopped playing after 2 missions and realised it had nothing to do with the main purpose (which was just hitman anyways)

I'm surprised he did not lay into this, because its a very badly made game. But he did mention my main gripe, repetitive locations and missions and just no sense of an ultimate goal, its just completely random.

I lol'd at, "The more obvious reason is that programming friendly AI is hard"

I thought it was pretty fun while it lasted, I didn't like the endings though, made no sense at all. The MP is pretty crap too.
