Well, I guess my idea has been thought of as well. No more room in hell, DAMN THEM! A month ago me and some buddies planned on making a zombie killing co-op mod, but, i guess the idea was already thought of. So, im just here sayin' would it be cool if We released a Zombie-1980's mod BUT it had more of Natural Selection- Combat gameplay. Would i be cool, or would you look at it as a rip off?

Basic Idea: It's 1983, your major urban city home has become a Class 3 zombie infestation, and you and other humans must Hold off/Hunt/Escape the zombie horde. Players can either be Human or Undead, with more kills, the more "points" you get, with points you can buy weapons, "evolve(term subject to change)", get food supplies (essentially limited amount medkit box), etc. We are aiming for intense, fierce, and hard fights, but still fun!

Do you guys think thats a cool, good idea. Or a bad idea that you won't play?

When a virus (used to explain zombies in a lot of movies) changes either to do something completely new (suddenly being able to go airborne or adapting from a monkey disease to a human disease) or to protect itself from a new weapon (becoming immune to a specific drug) it is normally referred to as "mutation"... which creates a new "strain" of the virus.

So, basically just think NS with zombies? What's new about the mod?

Dude, its the basic CONCEPT behind NS:Combat, the gameplay is VERY much different. Rather than, shoot up, protect base, etc. It will be harsh teamwork. We have decided that Everyone will be human at the beggining, except for one person (but that person is like a level 2 or 3 zombie at the start). And when you get hit by a zombie, it will slowly kill you (like -5 hp). When you die you come back in like 5-15 seconds as a level 1 zombie. Essentialy its like a last man standing, the last dude to not die wins. There are other gameplay types, such as Co-Op, everyone starts off on a roof, zombies everywhere, you can your "team" need to find a working vehicle, get your asses out of there before you get swamped(every 3 min the next level of zombies spawn). Etc, Etc.

So basically, it depends on the map. Some maps will have the last man standing, others will have escape, some will just be survive for as long as you can (obviously in this one zombies are a playable team). And the game will be realistic, hence spray and pray will not work at all. There will be a wide variety of guns and upgrades.

Then why did you say "Would i be cool, or would you look at it as a rip off?" if the mod is so different? Why even bring up NS:C in the first place if they are apparently nothing like each other? With the new description it just sounds like a basic Zombie mod. I was at least somewhat interested in the initial idea.

The basic CONCEPT behind NS:C is "protect the base and kill lots of stuff to get upgrades." It sounds like you want to do away with the whole "protect the base" part... and you want it to be less about getting kills and more about surviving. So, where is such a similarity between the two that it warrants a comparison? People get more abilities/weapons for doing something? That's far from being unique to NS.

It's like saying "I'm making a CS clone with vampires... but it doesn't have realistic weapons, a money system, a round system, or objectives. On second thought, the only thing it really has in common with CS is that there are two opposing teams."

sounds really cool, if you could pull it of, i would play it!

Yeah, I personally would like to add a single player before multiplayer (since I finished reading the Zombie Survival Guide) I was thinking of a storyline along these lines:

The chinese government has conducted an experiment in which they are trying to create a zombie army, this experiment is called Project Black Dragon. They have been trying to make an undead army since 1932. An automated transport ship is scheduled to land onto an island of an undisclosed location, but, something went wrong and the zombies escaped the crates, killed the crew, and in case of any emergency the ship's controll center is to guide the ship back to the "safe zone", which happens to be outside of a major urban city(possibly where the labs for Black Dragon are). The ship goes to port, and the zombies escape onto the Chinese mainland. You are a part of an international secret organization called "The Purifiers", you have been asigned along with 50 other members to "Purify" the area and cover up the incident. Unfortunantly for you, Ching'Zha Dong, a major urban city, has been ovverrun. You have to search for the Black Dragon labs, as well as eliminate any zombies you encounter (45 of the members are "puriying the area". You encounter many people and different zombies.

Thats all i can think of now

What do you all think? Think im wasting my time in making Single Player and we should just make multiplayer, or its a good idea to do single player then multiplayer. Or maby its better to do multiplayer then singleplayer?

Sounds kinda cliched, and I don't think it would be good to have the 'safe zone' near a big city... the Chinese aren't stupid.

It's also pretty much inconsistent with world history.
