what color is Half life orange?

i want to know so that i can get some paint for my case mod... i just want either an example pic, the html value or the RGB value.

or better yet tell me if any of you have made it and registered it at any Home depot.

Just use orange.. 0_o

Oranda Orange. Oh, and good luck with the resale value on that case...
 
All colours have a pantone number or rgb colour number which means publishers and artists can all use the same colour to keep advertisements and products the same colour. SO IN RETURN TO YOUR QUESTION, yes it does matter. Mate go into photoshop and load an official HL2 image into it, choose colour picker and click on the orange, it should tell u somehwere what colour that is.

People won't be able to do that with your case, now will they?

If it's a tad off, noone will notice... And besides, what is stopping you from doing this?

You can even use MS Paint.
 
Well the RGB value of my most genuine logo is #F7923A...

on 3 diff pics, i'd imagine there's such little difference between them that you can use either and it'l look right.

oh crap, i actually knew this, hte official orange type. Its in the PCzone UK issue from last year when it was first majorly previewed in the mags. For whatever reason, i have a chunk of mags missing from the end of 2002 until late 2003, i shall be having words with my cleaner.
 
Personally, I'd call it "burnt orange" myself (yes that is a color).

first it was a $60 case and its not like anyone would buy it??? and i spent $60 to mod my OWN HL2 case not to sell it to some random guy

and yes it dose matter the color and if you want to know what its for...

i am going to paint my case with combine black/grey on the out side and then put hl2 orange on the inside. i already know it looks good because i saw it in PC modder but they where not doing it for HL2 and they used blazed orange. also i am going to add the cididel claws that "eat" the city to the side.

i already (just now) sanded the paint off my case so its to late :p

BTW in the last pict on www.bigcheeseservers.com/images/PC-case.html you can see a purple thing that has 6 holes in it. WTF is it???

But yes, believe it or not, there are more then just the primary and secondary colors,. and yes, it matters. He could easily get some lame bright orange that does not fit at all.
 
mad maxx is right. There is an official colour that was mentioned in pc zone - not rgb values just the just name I think.

I did work it out about a year ago though for a wall paper I did.

try R 255
G 160
B 0

that is the hud colour
taken from here

it could also be R 250
G 128
B 50
but thats only because of this script thing for cs (maybe they know better than I do?)

they both look pretty hl orangy to me :)

AFAIK, hl orange is the same colour as the emergency orange seen on jackets. It's Pantone 021 iirc.

hmm...i'm pretty sure its damn close to the home depo orange - might as well just ask for that ;)
 
As the picture was loading I was thinking "I bet that's a chieftec case" and yep, it is. I have the same style case, although mine is just solid black down the front without the gold bits or the front USB panel.

The purple thing with the 6 holes is for extra-long PCI cards that take up the entire width of your case, for example a server-grade RAID array might. You're quite unlikely to ever have any, so you can just take it out.
 
Hmmm, I saw what exact colour it was in a magazine not too long ago, but I can't for the life of me remember which one it was...
 
According to PCZone who asked Valve....it's "Pantone 021".

I would use international orange and weather it. It would make sense for the hazard suit to be international orange.
 
Yes, I recall seeing that as well. Seeing as now 3+ people now confirm this, are you convinced now? :)
