I just saw the second trailer for Half-Life 2 Episode Two and I find it very interesting. It is obvious that there will be a new kind of enemy and weapons,as seen in the video,Gordon uses what seems like an altered machine gun to shoot at a strider once and it blows up.Alyx is also seen to be in a somewhat strange situation. The graphics will also seemingly improve,as seen in the video the blowing up of an antlion is much more...gooey now lol.I think the vortigaunts will begin to play a bigger role too in the Half-life Two saga. What do you guys think? :smoking:

Remember the graphics in that may not be of the final product. That is made off a old version of the game. The final product most likely will turn out looking better. At least I hope.

And I certainly hope the vorts will become more intertwined in the story, the caves with one as your mate is one major thing I'm looking forward to. I'm hoping he gets a name and a bit of characterisation because that's something the vorts haven't been given yet, a unique character.

...What?
This isn't a matter of opinion. Episode Two supports way longer draw distances, has a new lighting/shadowing system with better dynamic lights and self-shadowing, and may even support real-time depth of field and motion blur.

How can anyone disagree? It's a fact the graphichs will be way improved

Yes,there we go - the graphics will be ten fold better!

And Xendance isn't a loser,he's my friend :) He just tends to say wrong things :cheese:

Episode 2 is going to have some pretty amazing dynamic lighting, and a whole bunch of other things. This isn't a matter of opinion. It is a fact. Poll modified.

What with the new release date and all, they better release some awesome new media soon, with awesome crysis-esque graphiques!

The media they have released has shown us new high-res models, but hey, they could be better.

EP2 won't be something unforeseen in a matter of graphics. In fact the most part of the graphic engine is already available from HL2 and EP1. Remember, Valve decided to go with the episodic content exactly for that purpose - so they don't have to rebuild the whole game engine every time they release a game. With episodic content they just add to the game engine new techs (like HDR for EP1).

For the concerned: That last means that if EP1 and LC was running OK on your machine, then EP2 will be no worse. If you expereince performance probs, just need to disable the new things from the options->video menu that were added to the engine. Simple as that.

PS: self-shadowing, HDR, motion-blur e.t.c. are not something new in the game industry.

Yes, it will have better graphich, why?
- Valve are adding DirectX10 support to the game
- It has cinematic physics and effects
- Longer draw distance
- Improved Source engine

Episode 2 will not support DX10.

EP2 will NOT be DX10. Over. That's quite a big jump even for Valve.
Like i said, don't panic. I have played EP1 on my stoneage GF MX440 before i upgraded with GF7, so don't worry, i bet noone even tried to start EP1 on such na old GPU, and you would be surprised, it runs great at 1024x768 with FPS 30+

Much better GFX yes, what Valve is doing with DX10 and Quad no one knows!

Probably nothing, nobody has DX10 or Quad :P

Not by much but at least it's been enhanced a bit.

In a gamwplay viseo I've senn your driving really fast in the new car and a fast zombie jumps on the bonit and peers through the windshield trying to hit you, I thought that was pretty cool :D

Yeah, that's a new feature - NPCs can ride both in and on your vehicles now. :)
