Sure, eventually there may be some object that may destroy the earth, be it a meteor, aliens, whatever... There is a chance, irrelevant of how small it is, that eventually the Earth will be destroyed by something if we do nothing. However, that's why we have Bruce Willis, so he can go Armageddon on its ass and blow it up!
