i managed to finally get half life 2 to work, i deleted everything from valve and reinstalled half life 2 again. Updated my graphics drivers on board soundcard drivers. Now it works.

Ah brilliant, well at least they are takling the problem. Valve are definitly good for tech support. They have a person dedicated to relaying information to the forum.

The instruction "0x241f8977" referenced at "0x01c9f5c0". The memory could not be "read" this is what i get, it happens in the citadel when the loading screen shows up

in the centre their should be stairs going down, where the combine came from after you killed the 3rd generator go through there.

It occurs when you are dropped by that transporter thing in the citadel, when i hit the floor it says loading then crashes. The error message is something to do with a memory violation. Can anyone help? Ive tried a re-install no luck, CS:Source is working fine.
