My nomination for unintentional and unofficial Half-Life soundtrack...

I've heard that, BackFyr. It's a pretty neat track, and you're right: it was recorded in the '80s. Another song of the same title by the Sneaker Pimps in 1999 is pretty relevant to the game(s?), too. But you guys who hated the guy singing in The Mars Volta would probably not like this track...

Fun mods to tide me over 'till Sept30th?

Beats me... I usually look around on Hangar16.com for downloading mods. They might have alternate links, there,

My nomination for unintentional and unofficial Half-Life soundtrack...

Well, I just meant it being something like the "epic" of Gordon Freeman and the thoughts, feelings and emotions running through his mind after the Black Mesa incident. Not as something worthy of a true soundtrack, but it's fun, anyways.

Fun mods to tide me over 'till Sept30th?

Oooh... I'd recommend these mods (albeit, there's a lot... this should keep you busy!): Heart of Evil Dwell SP (Excellent maps! The house could use a little work, but it's pretty hard to make such interesting caves...) Half-Quake Half-Quake: Amen (very creative... very sadistic.)...

My nomination for unintentional and unofficial Half-Life soundtrack...

Yup, I remembered that. I'm just declaring this as my choice for an unofficial soundtrack. XD There was also music in a few of the other movies, too. They'd be defined best as ambient, but it's music, nonetheless. Also, what Gabe Newell said about HL2's music is that it's not all predefined...

My nomination for unintentional and unofficial Half-Life soundtrack...

Ignore the singing, then. Just think of it as another instrument instead of some "23 year old flash dancer." Having an immediate bias against something won't help you in life, believe me. Heh. Plus, the tracks have a lot of variation just in themselves, unlike the conventional pop and pop...

My nomination for unintentional and unofficial Half-Life soundtrack...

It's over an hour long! How could it be the worst listening experience you've ever had when you don't listen to the whole damn thing and judge it from that... Geez. I didn't mean to just listen to the first item on the playlist... oy.

My nomination for unintentional and unofficial Half-Life soundtrack...

http://boss.streamos.com/wmedia/url/www.universalrecords.com/listeningparty/themarsvolta.asx It's The Mars Volta, and their newest album, Deloused at the Comatorium. Listen to the whole thing!! It just screams "This is Half-Life," don't you think? It's dark, confusing, hopeless, depressing...

    Funny

I think this just proves that people are much more inclined to cheer Valve on instead of ID. XD Plus, people want the funds to be there for Valve to develop Half-Life 3...

    New alien discovered?

There was also this toothy butt-faced alien, as well... reminded me SLIGHTLY of a Xenian slave... PC Gamer had a shot of some concept art for an alien, and called it a "sentient ass-cheek." Tee-hee.

    over analyzing is fun!

That's kind of one of my theories... after all, Half-Life seemed to like delving into conspiracy theories and making it into a kick-ass gaming experience. So... if the G-man really IS a g-man, then it's not too wild a guess to think that Gordon may be or may have already been toyed around with...

    over analyzing is fun!

Sorry to be such an ass and trying to correct everything, but I looked at those images, too. I'll stick the updated list: 1.) Hydras. Note that one is green. 2.) Red circle, kind of similar to an unused (I think.) model in the Half-Life pak file. (I think it may have been originally intended...

    over analyzing is fun!

Ah... yay. I've taken a couple screen captures of the text and am now tweaking the images so that they're easier to read. Grayscale conversion and tweaking the color levels/contrast seem to help a lot in certain instances... Here's what I've deciphered (and what's already known)...

    over analyzing is fun!

YES! Mystery Science Theater 3000 fans... Well, extremely nice observation, there! I'm trying to decipher the rest of it, too... hee. Veeeeery interesting stuff!

Half-Life 2 Physics Test Level HERE

Well, this map seems to be intended as a joke at first thought, but as you actually play it, it's just to prove a point. That point being that you can do the same thing in Half-Life 1 as Half-Life 2. The only real differences demonstrated were that obviously, the movement of various objects...

    Diffrent antlion texture!

Well, the most likely case is that they revamped the ant lion skins... but another possibility is that Valve wanted to try and implement a little variety among some of the same species. You know, kind of like the mention of differently sized headcrabs. [that might just be a rumor, though]

    Half-Life 2 Story

...not to mention that the BMRF was specifically located in NEW MEXICO. The truth is, though, there is not an actual town or city in NM called Black Mesa, it's just a geological feature in the northwestern corner of the state that happens to cross into a few other states... (Nevada, Arizona and...

hl2 - way better than you all think

Well, _I_ kinda liked the ponytail. But I'm female, so I guess that doesn't count. o.o Anyways, I've never been able to get those farkin' movies from the Half-Life Nostalgia Project to work. They're always playing in a very corrupt sort of way. x_x I wanna see 'em, dammit...

    Freeman

Actually, by the looks of the screenshots and pictures and whatnot, it definitely can't take place more than 7 years after Half-Life. Otherwise, every returning character would definitely be visibly older and going grey, (even white, in Kleiner's case) where the screenshots depict them as...
