Models don't cast shadows on themselves or on other models. Suprised they had to use a model for that hole though. I though source would have some detailed map geometry but I guess not. Even doom3 didn't have self shadowing models. Can't expect source to. I bet someone will fix it with a mod though.
I thought the Cs source beta was for compatibility and stress testing. They probably got some newb tester who is to busy staring at Alex and putting her in posistions to finish seeing if the sp campaign is breakable.
Just wondering. Also why do people that haven't pre ordered get to pre load. Are you trying to test how much bandwidth you can waste, or are you trying to set a record for the only game company to upload most of a game for people to warez? I bet a good 5%-10% ,if your lucky, that pre-loaded...
This game is awsome for player vs. player combat. I don't think there is any other game out there that gives players the ability to become skillfull at fighting and not just become a human aimbot. Player on player combat just gives you the feeling your not doing enough, fast enough to take...
This isn't a bug. It's called culling in action. When you move your view up its dropping a bunch of polygons from being drawn saving a lot of resources. Also the ground is normal, bump mapped, or whatever tech they used. It's not really noticable since only muzzle flashes make it noticable.
Splinter cell can't even be compared to Half life. Even though Gordon would win. Hes a shotgun and a hazard suite and Sams got a pea shooter and a stealth suite.
