Isn't PCI express the new slot technology that will be something upwards of 10 times faster than AGP? I don't know all the statistics. :) Theres a thread about it on these forums somewhere, but I wouldn't worry right now because it doesn't come out until 2004.

The card at the HL2 E3 demo was an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb and it has been said it ran at about 60 fps. I'm not sure what resolution and what AA and AF settings were on but the resolution had to be at least 1280x768 (it was a widescreen). :sniper:

Call me stupid (because I am), but what exactly is a pipeline and how many does the 5900 have and how many does the 9800 Pro have? I'm guessing it has something to do with the GPU.

From all that I can gather from the 3+ "unbiased" review sites I visited, the AMD Athlon 3200+ is roughly equal to the Intel Pentium 4 3.0ghz, but the Pentium 4 3.2 ghz takes the cake.

That's bullshit. The game isn't optimized for any one card, it's just built on Microsoft DirectX/3D. I wonder if VALVe knows anything about ATi's claims.
