I just thought I would give you all an update on my situation. I put hl2 into dx8.1 due to my crappy hardware, and to my surprise her neck magically healed. If anyone else is having this problem and your willing to sacrifice some fancy shaders, running hl2 in dx8 may solve the problem.
The problem can't be with the skin because as i've said, I used the exact same files for hl2 and ep1, it works in ep1 but not hl2. Oh well, guess there is no fix. Thanks for your replies.

Anyway as my last post implies, the problem can't be with the model, my hardware or game settings. The problem has got to be with the original hl2 itself.
Just tested, the model works perfectly (so without the hole in her neck) in EP1 and EP2. The EP2 model is slightly different, but the model I used for EP1 and the original HL2 are the same. I'm also running the original and EP1 at the same setting and on the same machine.
1024x768 or higher will give me borderline to unplayable performance.
Anyway here's some screenshots:

Hi
I'm using the zero suit samus model as a replacement for alyx. The only problem with it is there's a hole in her neck. I heard this happens with other alyx replacements, as well as the default alyx model. Is there a fix?
I have the latest drivers and directx.
Running at 720x480
