Hi

I'm using the zero suit samus model as a replacement for alyx. The only problem with it is there's a hole in her neck. I heard this happens with other alyx replacements, as well as the default alyx model. Is there a fix?

I have the latest drivers and directx.

Running at 720x480
DX9
0x AA
Water Detail - Simple Reflections
Rest - Max

Pentium 4 3.0GHz with Hyperthreading
2GB DDR2-400
Ati Mobility Radeon x600 128MB Dedicated +Hypermemory
XP SP3

I havent heard of this before, but the sheer violence that the thread's title implies drew me in with a dropped jaw. Fantastic thread title.

Can you post a screenshot?

EDIT: Also, holy shit at 720x480. I didnt even know it could go that low. Damn, I havent seen a resolution like that since 1995

Just tested, the model works perfectly (so without the hole in her neck) in EP1 and EP2. The EP2 model is slightly different, but the model I used for EP1 and the original HL2 are the same. I'm also running the original and EP1 at the same setting and on the same machine.

LoL she looks like a Barbie.:LOL::LOL:

HOW DARE YOU CALL HER A BARBIE! :flame::flame::flame:

:devil:Now she's gonna send her pet metroids after you...

Anyway as my last post implies, the problem can't be with the model, my hardware or game settings. The problem has got to be with the original hl2 itself.

lol the thread title implied this would be an IHATEALYX!!1 thread

That's what you get for using skins, really. Only fix would be to reskin it yourself.

The problem can't be with the skin because as i've said, I used the exact same files for hl2 and ep1, it works in ep1 but not hl2. Oh well, guess there is no fix. Thanks for your replies.

PS: WOW 158 VIEWS!

I just thought I would give you all an update on my situation. I put hl2 into dx8.1 due to my crappy hardware, and to my surprise her neck magically healed. If anyone else is having this problem and your willing to sacrifice some fancy shaders, running hl2 in dx8 may solve the problem.

Fancy shaders? Below DX9 HL2 looks shit imho. But good that you got rid of the problem.
