If you are not interested in the OS or the controller, then you don't need a steam machine. There is no such thing as a "affordable gaming laptop with moderate specs". They are expensive and age quickly. If you had the OS on the laptop, you could stream from your main PC as long as you are on a...
That would completely defeat the purpose... these machines are meant to be in the living room using your TV as the monitor. You'll be able to install SteamOS on a laptop and play with a controller while you are on a plane or something if you want, though.
We get a release date tomorrow, finally. Neat to see if that leaked October 21st date holds up. Personally I think it will be the beginning of November.
There is no reason why I should go into detail as why that uninspiring footage is fake. It just a someone's custom map. Valve would no doubt have actual footage taken down in minutes.
I have already preordered the PS4. I have a PS Plus subscription till 2015, so I ought to put it to good use. This will be the first time I will own a console during its infancy.
Maybe we will get a trailer for Chop? :)
The preview from last year mentioned how Michael's wife has been spending all of his money and that is part of what draws him back into the heists.
No word about a PC release, but Rockstar did mention that they don't like splitting a release so far apart and ruining the story for PC uses, hence Max Payne 3 coming out almost simultaneously.
Also, GTAV boxart is being "unveiled" right now...
Looks like Project Zomboid will be doing Early Access as well, making their debut on Steam even sooner.
