I voted yes thinking that the poll was referring to the series of games that is already available.
I think they said that the multiplayer maps COULD be bf1942 size if the mapper wished, and that can be backed up by visiting VERC and reading the HL2 mapping FAQ.
I have completed HL1 a long time ago, probably 3 or more years ago.
I then completed blue shift maybe a week after it's release.
I have only just completed OpForces (Last night to be exact).
The ability to crash a server is related to several game exploits rather than any possible steam exploits.
The only way I can see this happening is if the exploitee is a content server.
I've just completed the Story mission and I have to say that for me, the game is a severe dissapointment.

I'd say this is just the back end of the Valve HL2 tour, it started at E3, came into Europe for the ECTS and now heads up to Japan.
I doubt there will be any new media, just the usual closed theatre with the Dell setup playing the demos while an employee/translator talks about the features.
Point number two is partially incorrect, Authentication is required at this time, however, I beleive Valve have stated that once everything is the way they want it, Authentication will not be neccesary for Single Player/LAN games.
