Every time I go to play some CS:S, I always go to check the HL2.net servers, and there's RARELY anyone on them.. When do most people tend to get on?

I got about 3-4 more fps on the stress test with 4.12 beta...

It made the server crash.. Iwas was tons of fun. You'd see someone change their name to %n, and you'd have about 15 seconds... Mmmmm, idiots....

I was going after the 4.12betas. I uninstalled, rebooted into safe mode, ran a driver cleaner, rebooted into regular, then tried to install the Catalyst drivers. I got an "Error number: 0x80040707" and a failed install of ATICIM.dll or something like that. I had to extract the Omegas...

I should have, too.. My wife's comment: "When the hell will you learn?" Heheh - oops.... ;)

of adrenaline when you go to update all your video drivers in anticipation of HL2, only to find that you've inadvertant done something that makes the new drivers impossible to install. Thank god for Omega!

Valve has your CD Key, so all you have to do is re-download Steam, installit and reconnect to your account, then redownload HL2. Done. :) Or, burn it all to a DVD...

Not to sound too much like a d**k, but maybe you should have checked the interweb a bit before you purchased. Sorry for the bummer, man... :( Look at it this way - you still get to play HL2 on Tuesday!

That's what I meant - with $500, he could get a decent video card, but that P3 700 needs to go. That means: new cpu - $100 new mobo - $100 ish new ram - say, about $75 or so new video card - $200 or so? What's a Radeon 9800 Pro go for these days? and maybe new hd. Know what? Maybe...

I would love for Gabe to hook this guy up. Just to show that innovative thought can work out for you. Hell, I wonder if he'll get an interview out of it when he graduates!

So, I've been hearing about the AUTOshotgun and the AUTOsniper.. What, exactly, makes them AUTO? Rate of fire? Basically, no reload time? That's my best guess (which JUST occured to me as I type, BTW). Thanks!

azz0r, I assume you've preloaded HL2, right? I think that's necessary.

Thanks for the website, oldfaq! I now have a room with a light. Unfortunately, I can only spectate with it. I keep getting the "no info_player_start" error in the console, even though I added one. Any thoughts?

I d/l'ed that bridge map, and it has two folders in it - Maps and Materials. Where do they go? Sorry for the n00b question. :)
