If I get an MP3 player, the IRiver looks nice to me because of the SRS WOW Effect on it. The WOW Effect comes with WMP10, and it sounds awesome to me. Has anybody heard the IRiver H10 who can tell about the sound quality, with the WOW Effect turned on? Is there anything better on other players?

1 gig probably won't last 2 years. I would get 2 gigs if you can.

Go with the 1 gig in dual channel. If you wanted better than 1 gig than you would want 2 gigs in dual channel, not 1.5 gigs.

Oh well yes definitely don't get another Geforce FX card, get the 9600xt. You'll notice a big difference, most notably in HL2. I also had a 5200, and mine was PCI.

No you're pretty much right, but games like BF2 and F.E.A.R. when it comes out will need that 7800gtx or R520 for full settings or close to it. F.E.A.R. more so than BF2, you could probably get BF2 on almost max settings with a 6800GT provided you have a nice cpu and 2gb ram.

AVG Free Edition for the virus scanner and Zone Alarm or Sygate for the firewall will both work. And they're free.

Socket 939 is better though, and definitely more future proof.
