that 17 minute video review is really great video game reporting. I recommend that everyone watch it. It covers everything, and he backs up every assertion with examples.
It looks like a great game. Maybe not perfect, but i don't expect that from any game. Not even HL2.
I just found this page at the ERC - it's about "background maps" and it's used in HL2. Easier for you to read it here:

hi,
I got an Xbox a couple months ago, along with Burnout 3 and MGS: Substance. I just rented Halo, and my expectations were medium to low. I'm really enjoying it, and It's around $25 on Ebay.
Should I buy it?
want to send me your copy? :)
bleh, this is a silly post.
you got it. i'm conflicted - do i stay up and not sleep, or do i play it on tuesday. I'm leaning towards staying up for the launch, maybe playing a tiny bit, then sleeping and playing the next day.
i think it was a rumor started by Shacknews. on the HL2 gold day they printed
I've never seen it confirmed anywhere. Someone should ask Valve, but they haven't been talking about exact dates/times for HL2 yet. They will soon, I'm sure.
no, no list of confirmed weapons - i'm hoping for some surprises. also, please spell words like "before" "explained" "could" and "forget" you sound like you come from the AIM Girls forum.
sorry for the double post.
i definetly noticed that. the bolts look radioactive and about 1/2 an inch thick. definetly not normal crossbow bolts.
Maybe they have some sort of burning properties?
Also, that crossbow looks significantly beefed up since HL. all kinds of electronics taped on. maybe something added?
he's not done! i was so excited to see the final product!
I think that he and the HL2 case guy are about even in terms of skill. Both amazing, there's no reason to split hairs.
Every day, we were waiting for the game to go gold. When it did, there really isn't anything to say or do until the game comes out. There's nothing to talk about, nothing to do but sit and wait.
In that time, it's easy to sort of get bored with the HL2 scene. I'm just enjoying a number of...
$40m seems like it would be a big investment to recoup. I wonder how much of each sale is profit? If it's 50 percent, then they have to sell 2 million units just to break even.
