Good to hear that a few of you are having good experiences. I'll be installing it soon. My only worry is finding decent 64bit drivers for my aging socket 939 hardware. I too haven't upgraded from XP yet, so i'm looking forward to running this alongside it.
Anyone actually got this up and running yet ? Thoughts ?
Still need to get round to buying another hard drive to install this on. Have the burned dvd ready and waiting. Sounds like it could be quite good.
:)
I agree with this statement whole heartedly. I'll take smaller teams and more teamwork any day of the week over sheer numbers and mayhem. Although there are exceptions to this i'm sure, the battlefield games pull off the big numbers whilst retaining a good element of teamwork. But for me, i much...
When i got a set of Shure SE210's to replace my old Sennheiser CX300's that i used on my Sansa MP3 player, i found exactly the same, the player was suddenly exposed for the relative lack of quality that it possessed, which found me changing my MP3 player straight away. I bought one of these on...
Started S class last night, have you given the F40 1 lap Suzuka race a go yet ?
Professional physics, no aids, just madness. Took me over an hour to finally come in third and gain bronze, with the front 2 cars 4-5 seconds ahead. Good job i managed it because i was slowly losing my mind ...
My PSN: ess_nce (somebody always has variations of my name xD)
How are you finding it so far ? Other than fun !
I have to say that the "beat target time for xxxx track inside 10 minutes" challenges are faintly ridiculous, especially as they seem to rely on you drafting for a significant period...
Also been playing this for the first time over the last few days. Joined the PS3 camp over the weekend (alongside 360 and PC) and had been looking forward to giving this a go, as i love my racing games.
Early signs are very good imo. The car physics seem solid, with each car having similar...
I can't for one second imagine how a GTX280 could be worth even 300 pounds now the GTX285 is out, let alone that ridiculous sum. If you must get a 285, then standard ones can be found for around 300. 390 is a lot of money to pay for a 285, pre-overclocked or not !
I played a few games last night, just against the computer to get a feel for it and see the differences to the first game. Graphically the game is a good improvement on the original, it looks great (mind, the original aged pretty well in this respect) and runs really well on a large range of...
If you know as much as you say you do about computers you will know that this "Pentium" is a Core 2 Duo, with low cache, branded as a Pentium, and one of many overclockers budget favourites and "Cheap ass ram" is the best you are going to do at that price, and has little relative outcome on the...
Quite excited about this. Dawn of War was the first RTS that i ever really enjoyed. I have already texted my brother to tell him to fire up my PC and Steam, get a reduced price copy of Soulstorm and start downloading the Beta !!
:D
Given what the OP asked for, what can you get for $400, what do you expect ? Nevertheless, for $400 or so you can get a system that will play a lot of games new and old at decent settings. Granted it won't play Crysis or Stalker: Clear Sky etc maxxed out, but the point of the thread wasn't...
