Gamasutra say they have independently confirmed with Laidlaw that this is true.

Well, not everyone keeps up to date on every snippet of information. But regardless, It's more entertaining to be surprised and excited about stuff than to be jaded and grumpy about it, in my experience.
These may be faked (as explained below), so nothing to get worked up about. I figured someone would post about them eventually though. Here's the skinny from SteamDB

Here are the HL3 entries.

Half Life 3...
I'm not saying it is the biggest news story, I'm saying it potentially is. Which is would be if it's true, and that is the premise the creators of the video have put forth and subsequently was the premise I was using to deconstruct its validity.
Followup video, if anyone cares.
Rather than taking Laidlaw at his word, they do everything they can to try to twist what he said to play nice into their existing narrative.
One thing I'm wondering is why is it that these guys out of the ENTIRE industry are the ones to get this info...
Eh, let's wait and see what they have in store for Gordon Freeman before we try and figure out if they're going to bother dusting off a side-protagonist that hasn't seen a game in over 15 years..
Yeah, there's a limited way he could address things here.
He basically denied that Valve would make decisions based on fear, addressing the "Valve is too scared of potential backlash if they screw up HL3." That's an easy enough thing to say, because it doesn't address whether or not they're...
I like this idea that Mass Effect 3's backlash scared off Valve.. but EA and Bioware powered on through and have even revealed the next Mass Effect game. Plus Steam gets all kinds of hate for their terrible customer service anyway. I mean, hell, they made DOTA2. I'd be far more worried about...
Read what I said again. I specifically mentioned you have since clarified what your meant and that it was a good thing for you to have done that. (Much like -smash- deleting his post) The bit about first impressions and all that, though? People aren't mind readers here; they aren't going to...
No, you just popped in here, went on a self described rant about what he posted, yelled about doing proper research first, and didn't actually back up anything you said with discussion or reasoning, just vitriol. Like, I said, you basically acted like he crapped on the floor. You're more angry...
There's something ironic to me about complaining about views/subscribers in the same thread where you took a new user and acted like they just crapped on the floor. Even if the leak is fake, it got this dude excited enough to register and post here. That's a good thing. You can point out the...
So I'm compiling a list of known information and rumors about Half-Life 3, and this is one of the more interesting bits, since it's from the mouth of Gabe himself.
Except looking at the video again, I'm not sure it is.
They start talking about Source 2 at about 5m59s, and then the specific...
So, there's something going on with the Black mesa website (http://blackmesasource.com )
Specifically it has a big link to http://www.bmrf.us where there's a countdown to May 5th, 10:47am. It's 10:47 no matter what time zone you're in, so I'm guessing it's supposed to be 8:47 mountain time...
Possibly; but I hope I'd strive to keep that stuff out of how I presented myself on my website. Like I said, you guys do cool stuff, and it sucks to see that work get marred with snipes towards other people in the community, even if those people produce poor content or are otherwise unpleasant...
I'd argue that the Lead Content Creator title you have under your name means you are representing this website. If you were hurling racial slurs or other offensive material in your posts, it's not a random guy posting it; it's ValveTime's Lead Content Creator posting it, and without disavowment...
