the x700 is really no good imo. it's basically a little better than the 9800pro for more money, not really worth it. if i were you, i'd go for a 9800pro, or if you want to dish out some money you could get an x800 pro, and that'd last you at least a couple of years.

i'd be willing to put money on it that valve has something like this cooking up. like, a multiplayer expansion pack that they'd release next year or something.

what you're saying wouldn't make the matrix a metaphor for hl2. it would just make them similar. i don't really see it though, you might be stretching reality to get a relation between matrix and hl.
