Except now that I just discovered I have to underclock it down to half the default memory speed to remove D3 artifacts. :(
Time to call my comp manufacturer! ~
BTW, I'm running pretty well @ 800x600 high-quality (with it underclocked). What are you using?
Vsync just limits fps to your monitor's refresh rate, and since D3 limits fps to 60 anyway you shouldn't be able to tell any fps loss unless your monitor uses < 60 Hz. And I hope it doesn't. If it does, please get a new monitor.
As I see it, CS:S is meant to just make the game look pretty, not to change gameplay. Making it so you take a lot of damage jumping off bridge is certainly changing gameplay.
It also makes bridge into a deathtrap. If you get shot while on bridge you no longer have the choice of jumping...
I really hope they don't change that. It is supposed to basically be a port with better graphics. If they changed that "bug" it would actually change strats for aztec. If players would take realistic damage from jumping off bridge, they would either go down to very low life or die from...
I really like it. Play at night, with the lights off, headphones on.
You hear the wailing of tortured souls through the walls around you, shouts of a human marine trying to stay alive, growls and moans of unspeakable creatures searching for you, and in the darkness ahead of you the clanking of...
Yes, I read your post. I'm not quite sure why you're "disappointed" if you understood all along that it would be a straight port.
I believe the point is to hold us CS players over for a while until they finish CS2.
If they spent their time adding new stuff to CS:S they would have LESS time...
Yeah... not sure if there is a problem with my card that makes it overheat easier or what, but it works fine now so I'm happy. Haven't noticed a performance loss after changing it either. :)
Well, I finally fixed it.
You guys were right, had to underclock... from a default of 250/513 all the way down to 250/300. It looks much better now though! :P
Oh, and Doom 3 runs extremely smoothly for me @ 800x600 high-quality, and is even choppy, but playable, at 1024x768...
Yes, I have completely removed/reinstalled drivers.
I'm not quite sure, actually... for a while I had just been playing mostly CS and Gunbound. I had no problems in CS so I figured it was just a Gunbound bug. But after getting Far Cry and Doom 3 I realized it isn't. :( I think it had...
Please read my whole post!
As I stated, it happens in several games (Doom 3, Gunbound, and Far Cry to a lesser extent... those are a few I can think of off the top of my head). I am using the latest drivers, and I have tried it with/without AA and AF.
I tried underclocking significantly and the problem remained. And yes, it is Doom 3. :)
It IS the retail version, and like I said, it happens in other games too.
Doesn't seem like it. Underclocking didn't fix it.
And as I said, it happens immediately and constantly in the games so I doubt...
Hi.
I was wondering if anyone could give me suggestions on how to get rid of these artifacts I've been seeing in several games. I think I've only had them in DirectX games. I have DX9c, but it happened with 9b as well.
