I'm very biased, of course, but I think Dystopia will be very well recieved when we release our demo in the not too distant future. Our most recent playtests have shown how far we've come, it's not only fun to play now, but the level of teamwork is great and the combat is at times stunning...
Thankfully, Dystopia hasn't had any of these sort of problems, mabey it's because we're all down in Australia, too far away for people to throw their sticks & stones.

the sv_timescale is a server-side cvar, so you'll still be stuck at sv_timescale "1.0" on multiplayer servers.
Although it may look like you run really fast on multiplayer servers, the prediction code should make you snap back to where the server thinks you are every few frames, so it's not...

Complex melee systems are doable for single player games, but when it comes to multiplayer, the source engnine isn't built for melee & latency. Sorry, but that' just how it is
i've found that putting all your tga's in a "materialsrc" folder under your mod's folder (eg. /dystopia/materialsrc) is the easiest way to deal with vtex. alls you gotta do is run it vtex normally ( eg. vtex.exe c:\steam\sourcemods\dystopia\materialsrc\name.tga ) and it'll output it to your mods...
We're trying to keep the poly count for our NPC's down to ~1000, yet still have enough detail in the faces that we can animate them with face poser. Unfortunatley that means his bagshoes don't get much detail.
Interesting, i hadn't seen that mod before. I like their style, especially a few of the map screenshots.
From what i can tell, we're pretty different to Hackerz gameplay wise, very similar theme tho
My steering wheel works with hl2 (it reads it as a joy stick). Only problem is that turning the wheel makes your head turn, instead of turning the wheel.
So if you flip them, it just might work, zomg
I'm pleased to say, Dystopia is nearly finished stage 3!
We've got all our main features coded, we're now beta testing & bug fixing at the moment. There's still a bit of stuff to be done for cyberspace, user interface and a few things need a bit more polish, but all in all we're cracking...
