thats a nice model. it seems like you could maybe optimize it a bit from 8000 polys though. looks like some of the polys are going into making it super smooth which it doesnt need to be as much

well for your mod your going to have to make your own weapon scripts and you will need a coder for this. in this script he can set what weapon does - whether it fire bullets or whatever.

you need GCFScape(google it) to open up the .GCFs and extract the textures - which will be in .vmt and .vtf format. Then download HL2 Compile Toolkit(at the top of the forum) and use the 'VTF to TGA' feature to convert the VTFs to TGAs.

yeah, it'll be fine with a skin.
imo its skins which really make or break a model. the model only really needs to be the basic shape for the skin to be applied to.
i found some time to do a bit more work on the model. iv just added some more stuff and done a lil editin to the previous.
the render's not the best. it doesnt come out well, but its actually turning into a decent model.
