sigh.... nobody takes the effort to read anymore :(
First off indeed the physics have been 'restrained' for online multiplay because of bandwith issues, this has been said plenty of times also in the "info from valve" topic and numerous threads.
Second they didn't update content like...
well... there were issues with AA/AF in the beginning with hl2 right? that's why they couldn't turn it on in the Bink videos.... maybe that's still not worked out correctly...
i think i read somewhere that they didn't really update game content in CS:S, but took all content from counter-strike and put them in the source engine. So basically you have all low poly content, lowres textures etc from cs but handled by source.
whel annywayz i is hopin for halvlive2 perload tamarrow =)
PS Valve are great! All theyre base are belong too steam!
Damn that was tough :p i never thought typing like that would be so hard to do
If you'd scroll up a bit, and take a look at the 2nd posted screenshot, you'll see a headcrab wav file... why would that be necessary for cs:s?
I don't know exactly what's going on here, but that guy has a point. :p
Hmm i did hear something about a big hurricane or something going over america? (i'm from holland myself so forgive me =), could that have anything to do with steam problems? my guess is no because they've got servers worldwide but who knows...
BTW It s kinda exciting to think that right now...
Hey don't worry guys, 2 months from now we'll all have forgotten about this 'preloading' thing and will be playing hl2 till we drop ! :P
PS wasn't there some sort of 'special edition' you could buy? 'cuz i'll take the most expensive double platinum gold plated diamond surrounded hl2 package i...
i heard (or read) gabe newell say ( and no sorry i don't have a quote :( ), that the steam network was powerful enough to (theoretically) deliver the full hl2 game to a person per second (!). so calculating a bit (estimating about 2gb of game data), that would make the steam network have a...
ow... but i really like the "quake 2 type" co-op :)
as i've said in another topic, i would've bought doom3 if it had that kind of co-op out of the box. Now i've played the entire singleplayer story at a friends', and maybe i'll play it 1 more time, but that's it. With co-op you extend a game's...
man once again i really really REALLY hope there'll be co-op soon for hl2, preferably out-of-the-box but i don't expect it. :(
Can anyone give a suggestion for a good PC co-op fps? No anti-terrorism plz. And ow, thnx for advising me Unreal 1 btw, playing it right now with a m8 =)
I disagree. The sven-coop team managed to do it. I've also tried (but it didn't work excellent) a Medal of Honor Co-op 'mod' which worked a little. And some guy made a doom 3 co-op mod only a few days after the american release !! it's only a few kb's big (though it's still alpha). And besides...
Yeah but it's not quite what i mean. What you describe is team-based multiplayer. I'm talking about a full singleplayer storyline, but with miltiple players.
Too bad... i only have 1 xbox :p
I'm really amazed at the fact that so many great released (and upcoming) games either don't have co-op or had plans to but got removed before release (stalker). Example i'd love to play Unreal 2 co-op or some other games (GTA3 co-op? :naughty: ), maybe even...
wow that's fast.... replies coming in quickly. It's good to know i'm not the only one thinking this! I often play games over lan with my girlfriend and her brother, and the most fun we had was when we played co-op games.
Can anyone help me recommend some games? i've tried googling it but came...
Ok i'm making this thread because i'm totally frustrated about the direction computer games are going at multiplayer.
I am a big fan of coöperative gameplay, and i don't mean co-op like Joint Operations or Battlefield, but more like Serious Sam, Quake 2, and Sven Co-op. Basically being able to...
Sorry, i did quote you :cheese: but ah.. i think you hit the nail on the head! Just the start of the game.... fade from black... wham! it's you in a train! And the adventure starts..... but wait! you can't leave the train because you're heading for work... well let's look around then...
