In my opinion, an optimal scale has to be based around physical constants (for weight, we base it around the weight of a proton, length, the distance between the center and perimeter of a Hydrogen atom, etc). Temperature seems like a hard one here though, but defining it as being based around...
Having a social life is as necessary to spiritual survival as hydration and nutrition. The social life doesn't need to be massive or intense, but everybody needs to have contact to other people sometimes. So, I'd say that the question this thread asks, is stupid by itself, as everyone needs...
This is a very, very common social illusion. It's best illustrated as this: "You gave a homeless man a sandwich? Ha, like that's going to solve poverty." For some reason, people always strive for a perfect, often unrealistic solution, therefore opposing small improvements.

Both AOEIII and Age of Mythology are great games. Don't bother with buying the expansions for AOEIII individually though, as there's quite little content on one of them.
