Well, I'm not all that disappointed after reading the article. I'm glad that they did start there, and they have a good reason for it being the way it is now.

AFAIK those games should all work. D2 does anyway. The only problems that have arisen that I've seen with older games would be visual themes and desktop composition. Disable them in compatibility options, and perhaps run in XP mode and you should have no problems at all.
